I miss this place…is it still as lesbian-friendly as I recall?
I hope this becomes an infinite list
{scenario:: small round table; beers and whisky and absinthe on top. lively chatter all around, historical figures coming and going from the place. Elvis has dark sunglasses and smells a little like weed. Bakunin has mayo on the beard, and Emma is ill-tempered as usual}
[Emma] - hey, do you know what’s up with #OWS lately?
[Bakunin] - yeah, i have been watching. the whole world is watching - i mean, WAS watching. things are not looking good, despite the birthday party and all.
[Emma] - what do you mean?
[Bakunin] - they are not reaching the 99% anymore. they only talking about themselves, to their own… numbers are dwindling. the analytics show that we are pretty much back where we started.
[Emma] - i feel ya, Bak. hey, you have mayonese on your beard.
[Bakunin] - oops, thanks.
[Elvis] - haha, you two! i taught you to not die after THEY think we did, and this is what i get? you guys worrying about a fizzling movement instead of enjoying this whisky? {chugs shot}
[Emma] - WTF do you care, Elvis? i have friends there, hard to not be thinking about all that is going on.
[Elvis] - Whoaa, come down sweet! i’m just trying to put things into perspective {farts}
[Bakunin] - hahaha, that was uplifting.
[Emma] - you are such a child, Elvis.
…
…
[Bakunin] - hey, you know what is going on, right?
[Emma] - of course i know. anarchy is being sold out to a shameful necessity to stay in control. organizers could not handle well the fever of power, for a while now; they fell for the Midas curse.
[Emma] - yeah, they are shitting on me and on the Anarchist tradition.
[Bakunin] - did you see that they even called an assembly with your name Emma? funny, a Freudian slip! to “horizontalize” shit by the magical influence of your name, whoa.
{Freud looks to the three from an adjacent table, puffs cigar and gets back to reading Jung}
[Emma] - how do you pretend that those assemblies weren’t rigged? weren’t totally controlled by the groups that decide everything for everyone a priori, and use the circles to essentially sanction what was already decided by the few? there is no freedom when you are dealing the cards that people will play with. or even, when you are manufacturing the cards.
[Bakunin] - … do you think they can see it?
[Emma] - they are not bad people. they just don’t know how to deal with power, that’s all.
[Elvis] - heard that one before. you anarchists are always believing in people.
[Bakunin] - Elvis, we are not naive. do you think that there are people on the movement that don’t know HISTORY and THEORY enough to see through the spectacle? at #OWS, there are 2 or 3 AGs that operate together for maximum control. for a while now.
people know, but they feel powerless to change this, because the apparatus is very subtle and refined and occupiers trust them. ends up that the movement became owned by the few instead of the 99%, a microcosm of society, and does not offer a space for people to find their own voice anymore. this is not the revolution.
[Emma] - i know. feels like a fraudulent form of Neo-Trotskysm. horizontality for the “party” or cliques and hierarchy and dominance over everybody else!
[Elvis] - keep goin’. sounds like the music industry! {sips beer}
[Emma] - yeah, we see a complete control of the movement in all relevant fronts: the ideological space is controlled by the Tidal school of thought, the Direct Action WG is controlled by them too, the sympathetic press is lazy to do research on other currents of thought and conflates the whole movement to only this mafia, and academia - clueless as always - helps out by staying quiet and benefiting from selling books.
[Elvis] - i want to write a song about this. wonder what will be the name?…
[Bakunin] - Neo-Trotskysm indeed. very elaborate. obvious that no one cares about #OWS anymore but the converts. people are very intuitive and feel the smell of cow shit from afar.
[Emma] - i am very disappointed… specially with the assemblies. manufacturing consent ? come on!
[Bakunin] - not to mention that they brake two golden rules… the first, PRIMUM NON NOCERE and the second, THOU SHALT NOT MASS MANEUVER.
“first do no harm”, don’t do something that will hurt others, specially vulnerable populations. to put occupiers into harms way and call it diversity of tactics is a joke. post-modernist crap Emma, this corporate-like “winning before people”. it won’t stop here, history repeats itself unless power is checked.
[Emma] - to mass maneuver through the assemblies, Direct Action and through control of the ideological space is really bad politics too. vanguards will always sell their own mother…
[Elvis] - just found the name to my song! “The Betrayal of the Anarchist Tradition” {expects kudos, gets none} … nah, too long.
[Emma] - pass me that absinthe. Bak, putting people into harms way consistently just to serve the goals of the vanguard is really bad political theory. #dehumanization, necrophilism! ARGH!
{gets absinthe, pours a glass to herself, Elvis and Bakunin}
i propose a toast to… to…
[Bakunin] - to insurrection, then! let’s start burning shit, haha {tlin!}
[Emma] - you, Bak. only you. i love you {kiss on cheek}
[Bakunin] - there is a storm coming sooner or later, Emma. people are not stupid, you know? i heard some groups are speaking truth to power; they already communicated to those damn AGs that a break or a breakthrough is coming… :: the revolution must go back to the people.
[Elvis] - why this hasn’t first gone to the assemblies? or made it wide open to everybody? this discussion belongs to all!
[Emma] - it certainly does. the thing is, when the assemblies are totally rigged like that, is there any legitimacy left? and hey, come on! #OccupyGossip will take care of the rest.
[Elvis] - whoa, you are quite somethin’, Emma.
[Emma] - anarchists see it through the Spectacle. #OWS has only one enemy, Bak:: itself.
[Elvis and Bakunin] - agreed.
[Elvis] - i think i found the name of the song. it will be called “Redemption Song”.
[Emma & Bakunin] - YES! it’s beautiful! you got it!
[Elvis] - yeah, i totally feel its that name too! i’ll whisper it on the ears of this other pot head friend of mine, Bob. he is dreaming now. gotta go, see you guys soon!
[Bakunin & Emma] - bye.
{and each occupier wakes up; “what a weird dream”, they think. and soon they start realizing that everybody had a similar dream. chatter and conversations begin… and this story, ends.}

Intro: Swedish film
- came with expectations to see what America was like
- “freedom of speech”
—————
1967
Stokely Carmichael
*This guy is clearly a badass
A Boycott is a passive act, the most passive political act, because the boycott said “We will not ride your buses”
- not even violent
*If you are nonviolent and suffer, your opponent will be moved to change his heart; however, in order for nonviolence to work, your opponent must have a conscience, which America does not.
People need radical opinions in order to get a sense of the difference of opinion? In order for more of the population to be mobilized to action?
I want to be like Stokely Carmichael…and interview my Mom.
“I was born in jail.”
I want to jam with Stokely.
“This is for the FBI.”
Jez3Prez has opened his archives to everyone; special invitation to the FBI.
Why were the Feds listening in to Talib Kweli’s listening habits, i.e. listening to speeches of Stokely Carmichael from 40 years ago?
Because he’s the guy who invented black power.
——1968——
*Note to self: compile a soundtrack of all songs in BPM.
I still believe I am more Malcolm than King. He is a bit more realistic in his analysis of
They kill everyone that stood up for the black man. People say its a conspiracy…I believe it is
There is no future…for the nation itself.
The people
The birth of this nation was conceived in the GENOCIDE of the Red Man.
Occupy was important as a Broad-based (nation-wide) movement at its inception, and collected activists and growing regional, decentralized movements into the same movement. Apotheosis of an idea!
“From the three of these pigs we have a choice of…They’re not for us, they do not represent [US], they do not represent the best interests of this country…thinking in this country, in fact they represent the very worst tradition that was ever to crawl from beneath the rocks of this bankrupt country.” Black Panther Minister of Information, 1968
1969
Gun, pick up the gun, pick up the gun put the pigs on the run. Pick up the gun. What does this song sound like?
- Na, na na na na, na na na na nanana nanana, na na na na…
[Land of a thousand dances ~1962]
Would you choose exile over death? It appears that Stokely chose exile…where Martin chose death.
Why did Algiers/Algeria fail? [From an anarchist perspective, the answer is always the same] Eldridge Cleaveland wanted to establish a government that would be recognized by other “leaders”.
I wonder if anarchists can legitimately be critized for being anti-governance.
To think that Americans have a more “real” perspective of their country is a pillar of American egotistical nationalism.
One for the jailed
Once upon a time, a young DJ at a humble college radio station received a call on the request line.
It was from the local prison; the automated operator asked if she would receive a phone call from “Bob”.
She hung up the phone.
“Bob” called back and our young DJ accepted the call.
“Bob” requested if she could play a song, a nice song, something that didn’t quite fit the show this DJ was doing, but something reasonable nonetheless.
For fear of disappointing him & worried that he might come after her, she hung up the phone.
The moral question of this story is,”Do prisoners have human rights?” Moreover, do we even offer them the opportunity for human dignity & respect?

Angela Davis trial
It’s not even clear that Angela Davis knew the people who comitted this.
charged with accomplice to murder for being the owner of the gun (a crime punishable by death) There’s no evidence to involve A Davis
It shows only that she owned the guns…but because of the inflammatory press, they could put enough pressure to get an indictment.
She was clearly a political prisoner,
Bradley Manning in jail for ???? days?!?!
Jeremy Hammond in jail 200 days w/o
Revolution consists not in violence but in the principles and the goals that are to be achieved.
NOTE: certain people love certain revolutions…
Where was that Angela Davis speech at -
Who was Assata Shakur (charged with murder of 5 policemen)?
How judgmental is that Swedish bus tour? How realistic?
OD-d; one less. [cop said]
Young people dying from overdose; the war on drugs. By mere name alone: violence, casulaties, explosions, pain, messiness, enemy combatants.
Would that guy of the Black Book store, be better to call this the Black is Beautiful Mixtape?

THIS GUY SEEMS LIKE MAD JUDGEMENT.
- makes everyone feel bad
(Nation of islam was filled with thuggery, corruption, and assasinations ; sounds like a mafia)
“Malcolm X is worth more dead than alive.”

I feel like we should not attempt to OUTfanatacize the fanatics. [Bill Maher]
